Lets see some good use of active MODx calendar systems!
Be nice to see some well executed calendars that are live on the web...
* Which system did you choose and why?
* How much work did it take?
* Was it easy to style with CSS?
* Any issues, like browser weirdness, you had to overcome?
Thanks!
None, all I have found so far are under-developed/supported items from which one must choose because that’s all there is.
I volunteered to test the new one.
Thank you, Tom
I sort of agree with you.
From what I can tell the whole MODx calendar arena is mainly fulfilled by individuals who have developed something to meet their own specific needs. This is of course a real credit to the smart folks who have the skills to build a solution that meets their needs!
I love MODx, but this seems one of those areas where the project displays its youth.
Building a great snippet or module that will become a core system "must have" takes more than clever server programming skills. It takes a certain level of marketing awareness, great presentation, thorough documentation and working examples that scream "see how cool this is!!!"
I think my quest for a solid working calendar option might have to wait...
I am actually looking for one of those smart developers to create a decent system... I really need it for a client.
I gave up looking for an integrated calendar. I usually fall back to embedding Google calendar. I recently did this for a client, and they couldn’t be happier.

what features are you missing that would make you choose google over an integrated calendar? just curious as I want to make the mxCalendar top of mind for calendar integration?
cheers

The advantage to Google calendar I find is that many end-users are afraid of the Manager. It’s not as "shiny" as the Google interface, and even using managermanger rules it just has too much. After the mxCalendar settles down a bit, I’ll play around with making a fancy front-end management interface for it; although I’ve been working with JQuery a lot more than MooTools lately.

agreed on the "sexy" factor for google, I have not put any design on the mxCalendar yet, but will be working on the branding and making it pretty soon.
I think a big step I’ll be taking this in the future release is the non-manager interface for management through web roles, which I then think requires the more attractive interface.

I have not used your new calendar system but I am totally stoked that someone is actively developing a real solution to the calendar needs here...
