Also, sorry I misread the original error message, I saw the # and assumed it was a temp file, it is in fact an MYI file, try this link for an explanation of errcode 17, http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=14325, just the bottom entry summarizes, it would appear that possibly the problem is perms on the directory it is using or you need to specify a temp directory
Did this not help? Did you specify in mysql.conf which temp directory to use?
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

From the very bottom of this admittedly long thread :-
Hi,
The problem is the permission of the temporary folder. If you don’t have specified any
temporary folder please edit the my.cnf and spcify "tmp_dir = /tmp" if you run a linux
server. Then restart the mysql service.
If the problem persists look if any program is locking this folder.
Obviously on your windows server this will be C:TEMP or something. I’m not sure where my.cnf is on Windows, I don’t run any Windows servers, you’re admins may be able to help.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!

MODx is great, but knowing how to use it well makes it perfect!
