Hello all,
I am really loving MODx so far, and just had a question about templating, as I am still learning the system. In the past I have really enjoyed the templating style of WordPress in that the "templates" weren’t complete pages, but portions of the page, eg: header.php, footer.php, sidebar.php etc. Then you could assign this template to a specific page etc, and specify different headers or whatever for each..
Just taking a quick look at MODx, it seems that the templates are entire pages, so could templates be created in a similar fashion and then included with template variables or....
Am I missing the bigger picture here? Is this already a function of MODx and I’m not getting it? I still have much to learn about the chunks etc, but have related them to functions...
I am still reading docs and otherwise, but a headstart on this question would be great!
Thanks a bunch,
PF

You can do that with either TVs and default values, which makes them changeable when you need to override something or with chunks when you don’t need to change them from page to page.
