Well, I’m not a MySQL expert but I think this is just database corruption rather than a case of being hacked. It can happen more frequently than most people think it would do.
Do you have a db backup that you can restore? That’s about my only suggestion. If you’re on a hosted server, then you could ask your provider as they will most likely have some form of a backup.
Perhaps somebody has a better idea of what’s happened?

Did you try to repair and optimize the tables in this database? With phpMyAdmin: Choose your db, mark all tables, then at the bottom left "repair", after that same thing with "optimize". Don´t know if that fits, but at my hoster, this was the solution for a similar problem with a joomla installation.

I did that and got this error
jodee_etomite.etomite_site_content repair error 30 when fixing table
jodee_etomite.etomite_site_content repair error Can’t copy datafile-header to tempfile, error 9
jodee_etomite.etomite_site_content repair status Operation failed
MODx version 0.9.1
Version codename rev 646
phpInfo() PHP Version 4.3.11
Apache/1.3.33
Ok I was able to get to my manager in FF but at the top I got this error
Warning: session_start(): open(/tmp/sess_96c364e8a8dbfb8c0a32f8efdbf66957, O_RDWR) failed: Read-only file system (30) in /home/jodee/public_html/manager/includes/config.inc.php on line 38
any ideas
Had you consult this with your web host? They might be able to help you out.
I wish I know what’s the problem, but it seems to me that the whole site configuration is being jacked up.
I am sure its something with database only, you should ask your host to fix this problem for you.
Other than that, try copying your database to another and repeat the repair/optimize steps on new database, if this goes well, change the references in your config.inc.php file to this new database and all will be smooth, hopefully without any data loss. BUT again this method is just hit’n’trial stuff.

zi
All is working fine right now it had to be a db because this morning I was able to optimize and repair it
