More than 1 dropmenu in same template ?

is it possible to have 5 separate navigation systems in one template using dropmenu ?

would there have to be 5 individual [dropmenu] codes to do this not sure how it would work

Yes. And yes. Put the [[DropMenu?startDoc=`id`...]] wherever you want a menu to appear. If you want the exact same menu to appear in more than one place, you can call the DropMenu snippet with an argument to output its list to a placeholder, then you can just call DropMenu once with those arguments in a template or document, and put that placeholder [+MyMenu+] (or whatever you want to call it) wherever you want that specific menu to appear.

// $phMode [ true | false ]
// Whether you want it to output a [+placeholder+] or simply return the output.
// Defaults to false.
$phMode = false;

// $menuName [ string ]
// Sets the name of the menu, placeholder, and top level DIV id (if topdiv
// option is true). Set to "dropmenu" by default.

Or you can use TVs, but that gets more complicated.

I would like to have different dropmenus in the same template.

The TopMenu will have a range id ID’s (1-6 for e.x)

Another menu will have a range of ID’s (1, 7-13 for e.x)

How can I achieve this?

I think I am having the same question. I have the dropmenu working, but I want it to display submenu navigation only when the user is viewing documents in the folder.

I have two menus on the site.

[[DropMenu? &levelLimit=`1`]] --- is the main nav menu.

but I have a submenu that I would like to display the navigation of folder content.

I am guessing something like.

if(current_folderID==`3`){ [!DropMenu? &startDoc=`3`!] }
else{};

something like that, but I still don’t fully understand the MODx tags and handles yet, I have a little knowledge of PHP, but I am more of an actionscripter.

If someone could help me... I would be super stoked out.. thanks.

For the submenu, could you call:

[[DropMenu? &levelLimit=`1` &startDoc=`[*id*] `]]

If I am correct, and I may not be, this would set your menu’s parent directory to the current page.

Any of the heavy lifters know if this would work?

I can’t believe I got it to work! I just noticed another snippet that will do a split menu you might like.

Yeah after doing a lot of snooping I found this dropmenu hack, it works the way I wanted. The method you posted worked when the user selected the folder, but when a sub document was selected the nav would not display. Thanks for all the help. You can check out the nav at my site

that dropmenu hack, easy gallery 2, and replix for user commenting. Still have to style the forms, but so far its been easy to customize everything.
