I want to create an e-commerce site. Can you guys give tips? Thanks!

Yeah me too. Does the site needs to be flashy? Or is it better if it’s simple?

VisionCart is in Beta, it is looking very promising BUT
it is still not ready for production. Please correct me
if I am wrong!!

not wrong, still not production ready (we do use it for 2 sites already, but we made the beast.)

soon when we have more time (when paid jobs give us time) we will continue developing visioncart, hoping to put a new release out soon.

FoxyCart is superb for checkout. For small sites, you can just create a template called "product" and a template called "category" like you would with a blog. How big will your site be?

I'd be happy to donate to VisionCart if there is a real ETA on a stable version!

SimpleCart is a nice option, granted it's not free, but you do get an actively developed product with regular releases that has been tested on production sites.

@amdbuilder I wasn't aware of SimpleCart until yesterday. It will be my next project to get a demo of that up and running.

I know they plan to setup a demo in the near future, in the mean time if you want to check it out let me know. I have a site using it you can check out.
