Visa, MasterCard

Did someone think about other payment system except PayPal?
How about Visa, MasterCard.
I see a small plugin for Joomla called VirtueMart.
Maybe someone can rebuild this one?
Or maybe use something else.
Any thought?

Visa and Mastercard can be accepted indirectly from PayPal’s login page and it is not required from the buyer to have any PayPal account. One major benefit of this is security as it avoids the hassles of developing a PCI compliant e-commerce system.

Accepting payments from credit cards or not depends on the PayPal Business account settings.

Update: Credit card payments were tested with TreasureChest (via PayPal).

I observe that this depends on PayPal’s landing page for checkout.
On the German landing page, PayPal offers the possibility to pay with a bank card or credit card.

On landing pages in other languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch), you can still pay with credit card, but PayPal suggests to create a PayPal account simultaneously.
I’m not sure, but I think this was not necessary a few months ago.

Also, in PayPal’s business account interface, you could choose if you wanted to accept credit cards or no. I cannot find this option anymore. Maybe are credit cards accepted by default now.

I’m am not having any problem in using Paypal’s UI to accept other CCs.
