Please bear with this rather long explanation because my main issue is that I’m in Canada. So instead of paypal in Canada we can e-mail money thru Interac as a gateway and this is what I’d like to do.

I’m creating a site and basically it’s a day trip site. Our audience will come to the site. Purchase admission to our bus and then every week we have trips up to the attraction and then back down in the evening. For the moment I want to start simple so there’s going to be one maybe two tiers of payment.

In terms of payment, since I’m expecting 90%+ of my demo to be college students, I’m looking into way of them to e-mail me the money. It would be easier on my end and on their end. On the Interac site they say
To offer Interac Online, you will need to work with a participating http://www.interac.ca/merchants/productsandservices_ol_acquirers.php"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">acquirer or http://www.interac.ca/merchants/productsandservices_ol_providers.php"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">payment service provider. [/QUOTE]

Over at E-Xact they suggest that hosted checkout could be integrated into a commerce site. Unfortunately the two carts I first came across Kiwee and TreasureChest seem to be sort of abandoned at the moment. I don’t know how flexible these things are but I have basically two needs. 1) I’m basically going to be selling a single item and 2) I will be trying to avoid using traditional US centric payment methods (Paypal, and others that require additional signup). I’ve heard good things about ZenCart and FoxyCart but I don’t know how they react when I’m not using paypal.
just another sig... maybe I'll put a dynamic image in it later.
