    Hi folks,

I wonder if combining AquaticPrime http://www.aquaticmac.com/ with TreasureChest could be a way to sell digital products with MODx.
AquaticPrime was written for Macintosh users, but could maybe be ported for Windows users since source code is available.

There is some PHP version for the web server side and interfaces with PayPal and software selling sites.
I think that the PHP part of Aquatic is not the full software.

I had a look in the source code but I’m totally lost since I’m not a C developper nor a Macintosh user.
Unfortunately are no comments in the code and I cannot figure out how it works and how to translate it.

Could some Mac developper have a look and tell if there are reasons to hope or not.
I tried to contact Aquatic author, but my email did not arrive to him.

    Thanks.

      I’m developing my own solution.
I hope it to be compatible with MODx and TreasureChest one day, but there is still much work to do.

Cool! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Hopefully you’ll share it with the community wink

TreasureChest is dead in the water. Looking back at it now, I can’t believe how poorly it was coded. No comments, no extensibility, too difficult to customize, etc... etc... etc...

I don’t gamble, but if I were a betting man (and a man who was looking for something better than TC), I guess I would keep a close tab on Scotty Delicious’ blog and Twitter <wink, wink>

        • Well, you’re a better pirate than I am; I ran aground with ShopX, and gave up on the whole idea in disgust. I am looking forward to seeing what you do next. All of your projects have been very interesting.

Hopefully soon we’ll be opening the floodgates, so maybe Jul, and others could contribute - TreasureChest is, unfortunately, dead in water!

Well this is very good news! I hope it is database driven and does not store products as modx documents. Keenly following this... smiley

              cheers/k

                Hi Scotty and Adam,

This is a very good new.
I visited your blogs, but could not find any useful information about the future tool. Is there ?

Could you tell us when the first release is planned ?
Which the payment solutions will be? (Paypal, Moneybookers, Click2buy or others. Credit cards systems ?)
The main differences with TreasureChest ?
...and idea about the price of the new tool ?

[Edit:] One more question : is your project coded for MODx 0.9.6.x or for MODx Revolution 2.0 ?

                Thanks.

                Cheers.
