Piwik: open source analytics software

There is a very nice new web analytics tool out there: Piwik aims to be an open source alternative to Google Analytics. It’s still beta but looks very promising.

In addition, there is a 5 min video presentation available, unfortunatly in german. But good enough for getting a first impression.

I like the idea to keep my data away from google What do you think about Piwik?

It is nice, but quite limited compared to GA. Once some more developers make some plugins, it could be amazing. I am still continuing to use GA, but I am also installing piwik on some websites to test it out, and support this awesome project.

looks sweet. Me too like the idea of keeping that data internal. will try installing this on my site.
