Ajax "eye candy" not working?

I have I am working on locally that is running on Evo 1.0.4. I have installed AjaxSearch 1.91. Its works and I have managed to get MaxiGallery to function on this site by copying the mooltools JS from the Ajax Search folder into the MaxiGallery Slimbox JS folder. MaxiGallery would not function otherwise.

Like I said AjaxSearch works but the Ajax animation (opening and closing the search result box etc) does not seem to work? It closes instantly. I know there should be some animation here.

How do I go about debugging this or getting the "eye candy" to work?
