Having 2 instances of the search snippet on the same page?

Hi There,

Is it possible to have two instances of the search snippet on the same page?
- One that searches the whole site
- Another in the sidebar that searches the current container using the [[UltimateParent]] snippet

Any suggestions or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated - BTW, I have zero PHP experience if it’s required, sorry!

Yes, but with the next release 1.9.0 see this post. Available as beta release.

I’ve gone to the beta page but couldn’t figure out how to implement that feature. I’m guessing in the call it will be something like &id=`uniqueName`- would that be correct?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

BTW, I consider myself new to Modx having only developed 1 commercial site on the platform but I’ve come to really appreciate the work you "snippet guys" do to extend Modx - A mighty heartfelt thanks!

Sorry, although I couldn’t get to the examples from your website, I saw the link in your post...

I tried out the beta but couldn’t get it to work properly so have switched back to the normal search - will wait for the proper release.

However, since switching back to 1.8.4, the highlighted extracts won’t show up on the results page - only a headline with breadcrumbs.

Do I have to clear some sort of cache or is there a trick to getting them back? I followed the "Setup parallel installations" on the wiki and made backups of my AjaxSearch calls in the header and the call on the results page so am pretty sure these are identical.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Logged out and back into manager and now it works...
