Searching through pdf and Word files with AjaxSearch + Wilbur or Wilma

Hi,

Is there some interest for allowing AjaxSearch also scan through pdf, Word (.doc) files, inside zip files, a.s.o ?

I think there is a possibility for this by linking either Wilbur or Wilma, two GNU/GPL softwares from "RedTree Development Inc." and available from here: http://wilbur.redtree.com/

Both Wilbur and Wilma are executables, so they (normally) require a dedicated server. Wilbur is Windows-only. Wilma is younger (also potentially less stable) but multiplatform. Such integration would also be especially useful for Intranets.

The two softwares can be called in command line mode. Integrating their results to AjaxSearch should be theorically possible by returning Wilbur or Wilma results to the "standard out".

I must aknowledge that I don’t know myself much about how AjaxSearch is coded.
So, it’s difficult for me to guess how hard such integration would be.
