AjaxSearch: strange behavior with special characters

Hi AjaxSearch cracks,

I have a strange behavior of AjaxSearch on a site I am working on: special characters (in my case german umlauts) are not displayed correctly sometimes (!).

You can test it for yourself:

Try searching for "oder" and you will see broken characters which should be umlauts in the result list. But if you search for "endo" the umlauts are displayed correctly.

You didn’t mention which version, which will be important. Lots of key updates in latest releases.

Its MODx 0.9.6.3 and AjaxSearch 1.8.1. I have tried also the new AjaxSearch 1.8.3a but there the same error occurs.

I have found out that the error happens only if the umlaut is at the very beging or end of the extract.
