I was asked by a client to add the number of the search result , as they had seen it on a site somewhere (they thought Google but it wasn’t).
Just in case anyone needs this functionality in the future.
Aroundabout Line 1400 of search.class.inc.php add:
function setResultNumber($no){
$this->varResult['resultNumber'] = $no;
}
Aroundabout line 175 of ajaxSearch.class.inc.php add
//set result number as PHx
$this->setResultNumber($this->offset+$i+1);
You can now edit your result.tpl.html to include the [+as.resultNumber+] placeholder.
