No. AjaxSearch isn’t designed for that. Only for a search inside MOdx tables (static content).

And which information do you want display to the end user ? The name of the folder which contains "xxxx" in the name for a searchword = "xxxx" ?
If this is the case, a specific snippet is probably a better solution.

Not sure I understand. Let me expand. I am using FileDownload to display a list of documents (mainly PDF’s) in an e-Library. When a user uses my search tool I would like the results to show the list of documents that have matching content as well as PDF’s that match the search.

Additionally, I am curious if there is a way to specify which content is searched from my documents. Currently I am using the &whereSearch=`content` but content is also the long title, title, summary etc. Is there a way to limit the search to only the document content?

define in which tables the search occurs
by default in documents and TVs
other predefined key: jot, maxigallery
by default all the text fields are searchable but you could specify the fields like this:
whereSearch=`content:pagetitle,introtext,content|tv:tv_value|maxigallery:gal_title`

So uses &whereSearch=`content:content` to restrict the search to the document content.

As to searching the PDF, I would like to search the content of the PDF if at all possible. If not then perhaps the PDF file name which will likely contain key words.
