ajaxsearch results positioning

My search results summary is showing in a ’floating’ box - looks like it’s absolutely positioned. Trouble is I can’t find any way to position this box adequately / accurately in a relative position to the actual search box or in a standard position in a web site who’s pages are centred.

Can anybody advise?
