Hello, all. I am using AjaxSearch 1.6 within MODx 0.9.6. I’m not entirely sure of the hosting platform - it is a simple web hosting set up through 1and1.com.

AjaxSearch is working reasonably well most of the time (I have a few posts elsewhere in this forum). The site is very small right now and thus not a lot to search. However, a couple of words seem to through AjaxSearch into an infinite loop. The animated icon keeps circling but no results are shown. The only way to stop it is to navigate away from the current page. If I set &ajaxSearch=`0`, the problem goes away and I see a small results set (in this case seven items).

    Here is my snippet call:
    [!AjaxSearch? &ajaxSearch=`1` &AS_showResults=`0` &AS_landing=`36` &showMoreResults=`1` &moreResultsPage=`36` &extract=`1`!]

Has anyone else experienced this hang? Is there anything I am doing incorrectly to provoke it? Is there any way for a PHP ignoramus like myself to troubleshoot it? Thanks - John

I’ve just set up an identical site but with AjaxSearch 1.5 (as provided with MODx 0.9.6). It produces the exact same infinite loop on the exact same word. This is certainly a major problem for me. I don’t see any option on a production site other than to disable the Ajax feature which is so very nice.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do I begin to troubleshoot it? Thanks - John

      • What’s the word causing the loop?

"Journey" which returns only seven matches when using non-AJAX search so I assume it is not a matter of load. The entire site is very small so I do not believe it is a problem crunching through tons of data. The site, http://www.spiritualoutreach.com, is in offline mode right now but I could enable it if you would like. Thanks - John

Yeah i have the same problem except that my words seem to be language specific.
That is whenever i use Å Ä Ö (swedish) it goes into an infinite loop (or not finding anything)

...and also when searching for other words, the result description uses the html code for ÅÄÖ (i.e å ä ö) instead of the letters, which means that you cant use the TinyMCE editor to write, but need to first write everything unformated and then switch to the editor to format the things u just wrote.

Anyone got a solution for these things????
