Attachments with correct file names

I have a form that uploads and sends a file as an attachment, however the filename and extension are lost in the shuffle.
Can anyone tell me how to keep the filename, or at least the file’s extension, associated with the file?
I’ve found a number of threads with people asking this question, but no answers.

Problem SOLVED by upgrading to the latest version of formit.
