Eform standard validation has a nice feature:
It adds the ’required’ class to empty required field after submit. Also it adds the ’invalid’ class to the field violating any other rule.
In my custom validation I can set the $vMsg (and $rMsg) to get my errormessage out for display. However I would like to also trigger the classes to be applied. Is this possible at all?

Sorry to have bothered. I found out you can easily access and modify the classes array on the fly. All that I needed to do was to add an &$rClass parameter like
function checkSignup(&$fields, &$vMsg, &$rMsg, &$rClass)
Then you can add or append accordingly.
