    I’m using MODx 1.0.2. I have a form (eForm) on a page with captcha enabled, but the text is only visible sometimes and when you do see it, it’s not bold at all. Kind of a faint outline.

    The form works meaning it collects the input and emails it to the set email but what’s the point in having captcha if you can’t really see it that well.

    [!eForm? &formid=`ContactForm` &subject=`[+subject+]` &to=`[(emailsender)]` &ccsender=`0` &tpl=`ContactForm` &report=`ContactFormReport` &invalidClass=`invalidValue` &vericode=`1` &requiredClass=`requiredValue` &cssStyle=`ContactStyles` &gotoid=`46` !]

        <label for="vericode">Code</label>
        <input type="text" name="vericode" size="20" />
        </p>

    GD library and freetype are enabled. What else should I took at?

      This may be the issue: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,18849.msg117897.html#msg117897 Looks like it is a recent bug.

        Thanks. I made the changes recommended at the end of the thread and cleared my cache. Still not seeing it in IE or FF.

        I also checked my GD and freetype support. I get this:

        array(12) { ["GD Version"]=> string(27) "bundled (2.0.34 compatible)" ["FreeType Support"]=> bool(true) ["FreeType Linkage"]=> string(13) "with freetype" ["T1Lib Support"]=> bool(false) ["GIF Read Support"]=> bool(true) ["GIF Create Support"]=> bool(true) ["JPG Support"]=> bool(true) ["PNG Support"]=> bool(true) ["WBMP Support"]=> bool(true) ["XPM Support"]=> bool(false) ["XBM Support"]=> bool(true) ["JIS-mapped Japanese Font Support"]=> bool(false) }

        Looks like everything is enabled like it should be. What other issues should I troubleshoot?

          That’s very strange.

          I notice that if you go directly to the vericode.php file, you have the same problem:

          http://praydiscipletrain.org/manager/includes/veriword.php?rand=458917090

          It’s producing the "noise" image, but I don’t see the code image at all. I think the image should be bigger as well.

          Are there .ttf files in the font directory (and nothing else)?

          It’s possible that your veriword.php file is corrupted or that the font files are.

          There’s a slightly different version of the image generator and font files in the SPForm package. You could try installing SPForm and see if you have the same problem. If you do, then either GD or FreeType is screwed up on your host.

            I ended up using another email form. Sorry, I didn’t resolve the issues with this one.

            I did check to confirm that there was indeed only one .ttf file in the /ttf directory and that the files were not corrupted.
