Certainly strange, when I get chance tomorrow i will configure a test domain to use eForm with SMTP Authentication and let you know what happens.
Have you tried asking the web host for any logs relating to the SMTP Auth user you are using?

My VPS has to use SMTP, and uses a different email server as well. No problems using it. I’ve sent you a PM.

If you want to pm or email me with access, I’ll see if I can’t deal with the email issue.
Here is the site in question:
(edit: url removed to prevent unwanted google search results)
Its still a work in progress. I did all the photography, graphics and design. Its pretty simple but I needed to figure out a dynamic way of presenting the three food menus using TV’s and chunks for dinner, lunch and happy hour. Still needs some more work on the photos; getting a consistent look etc.
I have also created a Fancybox gallery system (still to be added) for more images and a way for the owner to switch pictures in the sidebar using TV’s that I created. So far so good...

The site looks petty good
I tried out the contact form does this address physically exist?
Susan figured out how to determine that the password was wrong for the specific email address that was being used as the SMTP authorization username. I was given a password for the account. But the actual password for this particular email address had a few more characters than the email system login I was given. I think most of my eForm PHP edits were correct. Its just that the script was getting tripped by the individual email address (username) and password.
Big public thanks for Susan!!! What a frustrating learning lesson...

Using a TELNET session can help troublshooting email issues. In this case, however, since I knew the email address was good, it had to be the password.
