    What are the
     eform="Your Name::1:"
    code bits that are included in the default eForm form? They do not validate as correct XHTML when validated by W3C - Could someone let me know what these are doing and if they are necessary?

    Cheers

      They are for eForm to use so it knows what fields to save and how the submitted values should be validated. I don’t know how they are being evaluated by the validation; eForm removes them when it generates the form itself.

        OK Thanks - its the validation code to verify fields against the validation script i believe - as when its removed the form doesn’t validate!

          This code you mentioned, never comes in html output to browser.

            That’s what I meant; I was referring to validation by the W3C validation service.

              In assets/snippets/eform/docs/eform.htm can you see the documentations of the extended server validation of the values submitted in the form.

              And when/if you are using the w3 validation service - its the page/ressource in MODx with the form, there should be validated - not the content of the chunk holding eform.
