Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I’ve inherited modx from folks no longer working on project, and am attempting to get up to speed!
We have a contact us form, and I tried to add a new dropdown item (for subject -- we have 3, added a 4th option) and a new field for input. Easy to change frontend in the html but of course it hasn’t changed the back end and these folks are getting lost to our back end system...
any help? How do I "add" the new dropdown item and field to the backend of the form so our output emails capture both?
    tx!!!

Is this using eForm, or a custom form handling snippet?

If it’s a custom form handling snippet, you need to add code to deal with your new field as it is returned in the POST.

If it’s eForm, you just need to add the appropriate eform="Field Name:type:required" attributes to the field, and add the placeholder for it in the report chunk tpl.

In either case, the additional option in the select shouldn’t be causing a problem.

It’s eform, I think, and I was missing the report chunk piece -- thanks! will give this a try!

So, easily added in the new fields in the report chunk tpl but I do not see there any references back to the dropdown subject line we have in the front end (and I know that the original options in that dropdown ARE being captured). If those are not in the report chunk, where might they be?

The options in the dropdown will take the name of the enclosing "select" container. It doesn’t matter how many of them there are.
