Hi,
I wanted to use a directory for each subsections of my website. I thought that linking to the directory itself would redirect me to the first child of the directory (because when you create a directory, you can’t add any content to it, but if you modify the directory, then you can juste change it to a document with content...), a kind of index.html for MODx... but it seems that i was wrong... Instead of that, i have to ’hard code’ a document inside the directory and link to it directly. i would really appreciate if there was a way to redirect (at least!) to the FIRST child of the directory instead of showing a blank page
any hints??
Thanks a lot in advance,
Blaise Bernier

yeah, I think i’ll be able to find a work around, but don’t you think it should be a core feature?? a directory without any content should link the the first child... anyway, a directory is a container, not a page with some content... no?

Folders can have content. For some reason at the moment though, the create folder page hides the content field... When you go to edit a folder you can add or modify content easily.

Folders are documents like any other document in the database, the only difference is that the is_folder field is 1 instead of 0, and other documents will have the folder’s id as their parent. Otherwise, there is no difference. The structure is actually flat, the "tree" is only virtual. A very clever and minimal way of providing organization to content.
