I’ve been able to set up and send emails with standard PHP scripts on this server without any problems. However, trying to utilize eForm is giving me the dreaded

Main mail: Mailer was unable to send mailCould not instantiate mail function.

I’m not entirely certain how to conquer this particular problem - or where to start really.

As I said, if I simply place a php script on the server that uses the mail() function, it works like a champ. However, MODx is giving me this error message.

Any suggestions on where I can start working on this thing to sort this out?

This is on a Windows-based server, the php.ini mail function is set up to utilize SMTP - but like I said, the mail() works just fine outside of MODx.

    Thanks for any help!

First of all - do you have a folder /assets/snippets/eform? Containing eform.inc.php?
That is where the snippet sends the data.

Yeppers, all of the snippet is present. It just doesn’t work. smiley

I did find another thread on here and managed to change the settings to utilize SMTP mail - suboptimal for me, but it does work.

Strange thing is - running a test snippet on the site with a simple mail() function call works w/o a problem.

Oh well. Thank you for at least tossing a reply my way!

eform uses default email in site config in &from param, be sure to check if ur host implies and restriction on FROM address. eg it must be one of domains hosted on the server.
