How do you create a tell a friend form?

Hi there,

I’m fairly new to web development and band new to Modx but have managed to create a simple blog test-site. I’m now looking to add a tell a friend script but can’t quite work out what’s required on the server to send emails (if anything) and how to set things up in Modx.

From what I can tell, I’ll need some PHP to put into a snippet which I would then call from a template - maybe using eForm?

As for the form, I’d be after "your name", "your email", "their name", "their email" fields and some way of including the page link in the email body automatically (no message field).

I realize it’s probably a tall order to ask for help as I don’t really know where to start, but I’d thought I’d try anyway.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

There’s an example in this thread (albeit a bit messy):
