Will the 0.96 release have e-mail verification? I think this is a very important issue, because even captcha images can be machine-decoded nowadays.

Anecdotal evidence about captcha ... I don’t think we had it turned on for our registration (or they’ve updated it since) for these forums. Since upgrading to SMF 1.1.2, our occurrences of spam registrations have dropped by a factor of 5 or so. Maybe more. Adding email validation would be a great thing indeed, but won’t be in 096. Could you add that to the bug tracker as a feature request?

I just checked the feature requests: There’s a bug in the websignup captcha - it accepts any code entered no matter if it is right or wrong.
May be that’s the reason why I still get bot signups...
However I would appreciate (optional) e-mail verification as it makes the whole signup process much more secure.

I didn’t do the site what I planned. There are good guidelines in this thread on how to create the e-mail verification and it’s quite easy to implement. I will probably take a look at it at some point if someone doesn’t beat me to it, but currently I have also other snippets to update..

Hi all!
I have a minor problem with the registration and captcha: the captcha code does not want to appear on the page. I turned it on in the manager, but it still does not work.
My other question is: how to make a customised registration form with a chunk? Please forgive my question, but I am a rookie in modx (and I don’t have much experience in programming either).
Help me please folks!
