Hi there.
I am new to Modx and need to install some forms on my site. Unfortunately I didn’t get past the tutorial. I followed the tutorial to the letter but the verification code is not showing up. In searching the forums, the only other people I could find with this problem were missing Freetype (most of them) or GD (a few). I have both installed according to phpinfo (if I am reading it correctly.
The relevant output is:
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
FreeType Version 2.3.5
The html source for the verification in my browser is:
<img src="/modx/manager/includes/veriword.php?rand=1486977417" alt="verification code" border="1"/>
Any idea where I am going wrong?
Try entering the full URL of the verification code in the browser and see if you get an image -- i.e.
http://mysite.com/modx/manager/includes/veriword.php?rand=14
(rand gets a different number each time so you don’t get a cached image -- so the number doesn’t matter).
If not, the odds are that either the veriword.php file is missing or corrupt; or the GD and/or Freetype services are misconfigured on the server.
The only thing I can suggest is to download MODx again and copy the veriword file, veriword class file, font and noise directories, etc. to your site. Make sure there are no extraneous files in the font and noise directories.
