removing #EVAL from eForm

HI,

I was wondering why would you remove the #EVAL from eForm. In the documentation it says it’s deprecated.
I personally would like both #EVAL and #FUNCTION. Why should I create a function if I have a simple check for the field.
For example if(strlen($field) > 6) return false; I would not create a function for this.

Or will #FUNCTION have both: function name and eval capabilities?

Because EVAL is EVIL

It’s a design decision that’s been made a long time ago and in the next major version of eForm it will have disappeared all together (for that matter eForm will change drastically in more than that in teh next major version - although be mostly backward compatible). Sorry if that’s not convenient for you but I’m sure you’ll work around it.

I remember reading a quote that went something like this:

"If eval is the answer then you haven’t asked the right question"

The same has been said for regex.
