Am I able to use eForm when the action is not an [~[*id*]~].
For example I have a form that post to SugarCRM’s leadCapture, the form catches the required fields but the action is to a URL. Can I still use eForm, or will I just loose all the validation used by eForm. Plus the feeback report and thanks additions from the examples.
I still haven’t got my head around this yet.
I was thinking that I could still use eForm basic form example. Form captures the data needed then on the feedback report triggers a snippet which also send that data to SugarCRM. Except I’ve no idea where to start or if that would work!?!
[~[*id*]~] is just a URL so you should be able to POST to another, non-MODx page for processing. ( I think )
I didn’t know that. Can’t find anything referencing [~[*id*]~] in eForm’s docs.
So using eform formating/validating I simply just put action="url" for processing and eForm will still be able to catch the data and present the feedback report and report type views?..
Off the top of my head:
Validation should be okay as it happens before POST
Thank You report wouldn’t work if going to a separate URL as normally you stay on the page or move to the Thank You page to receive it.
What I would do is keep the action url as [~[*id*]~] (this way you can use eForms validation, email responses, etc.)
use one of the eForm events like onBeforeMail to grab the values and post them to sugarCRM via curl.
