I am trying to get my contact form to show the email address of visitor as ’sender’ as this will allow me just to hit ’reply’ when landing in my inbox. At the moment, ’reply address’ appears as site name with my own address in the sender field.

Can anyone give me a suggestion as to how I can fix this please?

    Ta,

    Hakim

I believe the parameter you want is "replyto".
      &replyto (Optional)
Email address or fieldname containing email address Sets the email address to appear in the ReplyTo section of the email

That’s very likely, but I need the form to pick up the senders email address, so presumably there’ll have to be something between the backticks? i.e. &replyto=`?`

so if the "Email" field in your form is named ’email’ then you’d use &replyto=`email`.

My wife has been bugging me to do this so I gave it a shot... and no luck...

              form code...

              <label for="email">Email Address</label>
              <input name="email" id="email" type="text" size="60" maxlength="40" eform="Your Email Address:email:1" />

              eform call

              [!eForm? &formid=`feedbackForm`&replyto=`email`&to=`REMOVED FOR POST` &tpl=`eFeedBackForm` &report=`eFeedbackReport` &thankyou=`eFeedbackThanks` &mailselector=`department` &vericode=`1` &subject=`msg_sub`!]

              Ideas?

The only issue I see in your code is that there’s a space missing between both sides of the &replyto parameter:

                Your current code is: [!eForm? &formid=`feedbackForm`&replyto=`email`&to=`REMOVED FOR POST` &tpl=`eFeedBackForm` &report=`eFeedbackReport` &thankyou=`eFeedbackThanks` &mailselector=`department` &vericode=`1` &subject=`msg_sub`!]

                But it should be
                [!eForm? &formid=`feedbackForm` &replyto=`email` &to=`REMOVED FOR POST` &tpl=`eFeedBackForm` &report=`eFeedbackReport` &thankyou=`eFeedbackThanks` &mailselector=`department` &vericode=`1` &subject=`msg_sub`!]

Hope this solves the problem smiley

This is a common issue. While most people may never notice problems it is recommended for best results to space delimit parameters in snippet calls always. Sometimes it will miss the previous parameter and sometimes it will miss both with no spaces. Not sure why this is but it is.

                  Cheers,

Thanks for the help, but that is not the issue I am afraid.

I tried &replyto again, but it is not working, my syntax and variables are correct.

                      My eform is ver 1.4.4
