So I ran into a road block with eForm that I’m hoping the community can help me out with. I have a form that I want to drop into the center column of my latest and greatest Modx enabled website. The issue at hand is, in order to do this, I would have to call the [eForm ]snippet from within the [*content*] tag. As far as I know, there’s no way to do this.

To illustrate it in a more visual way, see this screenshot: http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/3273/screenshotps3.jpg
The RED border shows the bounties of the [*content*] area. The GREEN border shows where I need to place the [eForm]. I like this set up because it allows the user to edit all three columns of content directly from the TinyMCE editor due to the fact that all three columns are within the [*content*] tag.

The only way around this I can think of to get the form working within the center column is to turn the left and right hand columns into chunks which are called by the template, Then, the middle column would just be the call to the eForm. There would be no [*content*] tag at all. This is not a desirable way to handle this problem, but I’m sure it will produce the desired result.

I’ve read though the documentation and a solution is not jumping out at me. Does anyone have an idea about how to do this without chunking out the left and right hand columns? Hope I’ve made myself clear. Thank you in advance!

    Regards,
    Matt

Why can’t you call a snippet from within the [*content*] TV?

Indeed, I do it all the time.

Sorry I’m not familiar with using Template Variables. Could you be more specific or point me to a thread that explains this a bit more? Thanks.

The TV [*content*] is usually the main blank area on each document you create.
Place your eForm snippet call in the Document content from within the manager.
That should, when viewed from the front end, or previewed in the manager, have your form showing and ready for use.

oh wow, I had absolutely no idea that you could call snippets directly from the visual editor. I thought they had to be called from the template itself. Ok, problem solved. Thanks David! grin
