Yes I took a look. It´s integratd with an IFrame, isn´t it?

As I said, I have this solution already, but I don´t like it, because it´s no real integration.

For example links to the forum in a wrapped solution would always result in displaying only the forum page without the enviroment (so do RSS feeds and so on). Of course also this could be handled by reloading the stuff outside the iframe. But this isn´t what I consider to be a fast and "modx-like" solution

      ;)

I use TV and View Port widget not iframe and the RSS work also.

You can click on the "RSS" feed at my site to see how it work.

          Your RSS Fedd:

          http://www.chanh.blogdns.com/unb/forum.php?req=rss&type=1&forum=1

          Your Forum:

          http://www.chanh.blogdns.com/unb/forum/

          Your source Code:

          <div class="post">
          <h4 class="date-header">23-02-2006 23:06:59</h4>
          <h3 id="post-"></h3>
          <iframe id=’TVUNB’ name=’TVUNB’ scrolling=’auto’ src=’http://chanh.blogdns.com/unb’ frameborder=’0’ onload="window.setTimeout(’ResizeViewPort(\’TVUNB\’,3)’,100);" width=’100%’ height=’600’ ></iframe>
          </div>
<!-- close .post (main column content) -->

It doesn´t matter how you put this together, the result is an IFrame. On my site (just uploading only for you wink ) I use a simple Iframe for including it. But as you can see with the links above: There is no chanh modx site around it wink It´s clear that with clicking inside an Iframe you stay inside an IFrame.

            So here we go:

            www.modxcms.de

This is under construction. But click on "forum" and you´ll see my Iframe solution which is not what I want in the end.

Well, it looks nice! It would fit better if you make your template a little bigger or varialble width.

Several months ago I exchange some idea with Yves about making UNB nicely integrated in other CMS and he said it is in the plan but he will not be able to work on it for several months. It is in his roadmap though!

                So here we go:

                http://www.modxcms.de/index.php?id=7

Lots of hacking was neccessary to include it. Some problems were:

                - unb uses "id" for identification of pages->modx also. So I changed it to "unb_id" (not quick but dirty).
                - the inclusion is called in a function (so does every inclusion via snippet). So I had to declare all global vars from unb again in the included file (forum.php).
                - there are some @function occurrences in unb, their disabled error messages are catched and displayed by modx. So I had to intercept them in the code of unb.

Some problems and todos still remain:

-Short URLs (SEF) need to be investigated, not quite sure if they ever will work.
-Synchronization of user tables, so that logging in modx->logging in in unb and vice versa
-the "veriword" function (image displayed with characters on it for spam protection) doesn´t work, so I disabled it for now.

But for today it´s enough wink

                  Good progress!

The forum seems to overlay the left side a little bit!

                    Marc (MadeMyDay)

How did you end up with the integration of unclassified?

I go to http://www.modxcms.de/forum.php and there is only the Newsboard,
so should I assume that it was not possible to integrate them?

                    TIA...

                      Hi Charliez,

I integrated the forum via a snippet so it worked inside modx, BUT never integrated it with user synchronization. I also changed a lot of core files of the ucf. In the meanwhile I work on the relaunch of the whole site where I want to integrate the vanilla board, Sir Lancealot started a real integration (search for vanilla). I will report there how the integration worked.
