I have a problem : the errors messages are not displayed anywhere.

I mean, for that input :
    <p><label for="nom">Nom / Prénom: </label><input type="text" name="nom" id="nom"  eform="Votre nom et prénom:string:1:Merci de préciser votre identité" value="[+nom+]" /></p>

The message Merci de préciser votre identité never gets displayed.

The form is ok, i receveid emails...

      Hi Seb,

you might want to send/show us the call on your page, would be something like this

      [!eForm? &formid=`PoolForm` &subject=`[+subject+]` &to=`[email protected]` &ccsender=`1` &tpl=`PoolForm` &report=`PoolFormReport` &invalidClass=`invalidValue` &requiredClass=`requiredValue` &cssStyle=`ContactStyles` &gotoid=`46` !]

Where the gotoid=`is the page with thank you`.

At least that how it works on my Modx page.

        Please help!
That this: Could not instantiate mail function

        What me do huh

Just had the same error this morning, and found the above in this thread.
Answer was that it could have to do with safe mode. I saw later that my "contact form" did work but my own form gave the same error. Later I saw that the page containing the contact form call was NOT set to rich text in the page settings where the one containing my call wás in rich text. Changed that and the error ( Could not instantiate mail function) disappeared.

Thought I’ d let you know.

Think this is a server issue but just to check:

The form is all setup, all works, says the form is sent successfully, but the email never arrives. Is there anywhere I can look for error logs? Is it just a case of making sure the path to class.phpmailer.php is in the includes bit of php.ini or is there something I’m missing? Not really up on my server stuff as normally it just sort of works.

          Cheers

Yeah I tried debug, nothing of note jumped out at me, is there anything in particular I should be looking at?

maybe send your call here? Not that I am an expert, however it works over here and when there are problems, the script returns an error instead of a thank you page. Anyway thats what I got sofar in case of a bad config.

Not sure If I get you, but heres the snippet call if that’s what you mean (emails changed to avoid spammage):

                  [!eForm? &formid=`feedbackForm` &to=`[email protected]` &from=`[email protected]` &tpl=`eFeedBackForm` &report=`eFeedbackReport` &thankyou=`eFeedbackThanks` &vericode=`1` &subject=`Web site feedback`!]

Cant see anything wrong with it from here. The Tpl’s are all pretty standard, just chopped up the examples ones.

                  Cheers

cant see a problem too, except maybe that your tpl ( eFeedBackForm) and formid (feedbackForm) dont have the same value? Probably not related to your problem. Sorry cant help you. Cheers, Fr

No worries thanks for looking into it!

The problem has been resolved; apparently it was down to the fact that the server has a local mail server, so when eform looks up the MX records to the domain, it tries to access the local mail server which it can’t do. A temporary fix has been written, the exact details of which I’ll post up here as soon as its been explained to me.

                      Cheers
