    Thanks again!

    That’s a handy link which I will take a look at.

    The emailsender / email_sender thing is getting weird.

    [[Contac tForm? &sendTo=`[(emailsender)]`]]

    [!eForm? &formid=`ContactForm` &subject=`[+subject+]` &to=`[(email_sender)]` &ccsender=`1` &tpl=`ContactForm` &report=`ContactFormReport` &gotoid=`46`  !]

    is what it looks like with a default install with sample site. So note the space between contac and tform, meaning it probably wont even be called. There is a emailsender up there so its taking the var we defined in our config. Using this code I get the Thank you message...but no email gets passed.

    if i change anything so far I get a "Could not instantiate mail function." including changing the email_sender to our much loved emailsender.

    If I hadn’t been able to send one email already I would have checked the mail() function but now I’m lost...totally lost.

    huh

      Go ahead and delete that Contact form line... it’s not used.

        OK, thanks!

        Do you know where I can find the mail() function that is carried out?

        my host recommends adding a new parameter in order for it to work:

        mail ($to, $subject, $msg, $headers, "-f [email protected]");

        Hopefully it will work then.

        I searched thru the eform.inc.php , without success.

        This is full of ups and downs, I was sooo chuffed when friendly URLs and the displaying the pics when inserting images from TinyMCE finally worked (Both a webhost problem)

        Sorry to be such a burden!

          Hi,

          if you have to change the number of params of the mail function used by eform,you have to look in this file
          phpmailer.lang-en.php in /manager/includes/controls/

          Need to be confirmed but I guess eForm uses this classs to send report mail.

          :-)

            Thanks heliotrope, wouldn’t have even looked there grin

            The class with the mail function is class.phpmailer.php in the directory heliotrope stated!
            The mail() call is on line 435.

            It now works so all is good. Thanks to everyone who helped me getting it setup!

            Just a few words now in case people with the same webhost as me hit the same wall!

            My host is hosteurope.de for anyone looking for the solution either add "-f [email protected]" as an extra parameter to the mail function, or setup an email account in the "kis".

            All the best!

              Change
              eform="Your Name::1:Expected at least two words:#REGEX /\w+\b\w{2,}/i"
              to
              eform="Your Name::1"

              I am also getting the ’Your Name » Expected at least two words’ error and
              I cannot find this eform=... line neither in eform.inc.php or in eform.snippet.tpl

                This is code placed in the <input> tags in your chunk, it is not part of any php file.

                  ok thanks,
                  now it works ...and made me aware of the non-validating code in the eform basic chunks!

                    Hey.
                    Are there any problems using eform 1.4.3 on modx 0.9.2 ?
                    I’m using eForm with the "eFormOnBeforeMailSent" thingy (I call a snippet that has the function that handles it, and then I call the eForm snippet), and when I send the form and it’s valid, I get an error:
                    "Fatal error: Call to undefined function StripHTMLTags() in /home/site/assets/snippets/eform/eform.inc.php on line 353"
                    (StripHTMLTags() is the name of my function).

                    When I do the same on a 0.9.5 install, it’s fine.
                    Any suggestions ?

                    (and "upgrade to 0.9.5", is not a productive suggestion smiley, for now)

                    Thanx

                      It may not be productive, but it’s the reality of what you should do ... there are hundreds of improvements to the core API, security, the functionality and the robustness of MODx in general between those two versions. Upgrades typically take less than 5 minutes ... what’s the reason it’s a hindrance?
