HI I thought I would start a new post about this as several of the posts I have ready have been old.

I have installed SWF 1.1.11 on modx 1.0.2

the problem I am having is I cannot get the forum to work properly, I have followed the instruction from here

http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,14143.0.html which was brilliant by the way apart from it did’nt work for me

Currently the forum looks like this http://www.djdavecoleman.com/forum.html
But I need it to look like this http://www.djdavecoleman.com/forum/ inside the page

When I go to the administration center inside the module smf connector, it currently loads the hole site not just the forum

Also when I go to log into the forum inside administration center I get logged into modx inside modx!!!

Can anyone help me fix this

Does anyone know if the problem I am having is because I am using files based on Version: 1.1?

Thanks for the link sharkbait I am going to give it a go, do you know if you can style Vanilla with themes like you can do with SWF?

Also does anyone know how modxcms.com/forum was created, I mean is there a module or snippet you can use to create one like the one we are using?

as far as i know it’s just a standalone smf forum with a custom theme, no bridge or such as

            Hi sharkbait

Have you installed vanilla and integrated it into your website? I have never done this before and I am running into a problem. I have installed vanilla and got it working here http://www.djdavecoleman.com/forum

I am trying to make the forum look like my site, I have tried to follow the instructions from http://vanillaforums.org/page/ThemeQuickStart the first instruction says

Copy the /themes/default folder and rename it to your theme name so it sits in the root theme folder like this: /themes/your_theme_name.

So I copied the vanilla because there was no default folder in /themes/ if this is wrong and i should of copied the default folder in /themes/vanilla/styles/default some let me know.

            Step 2 was ok

Step 3 Grab the style.css file from /applications/garden/design/style.css I have no idea where this is

I really want to get this working, has anyone already done this, could they tell me how they did it thanks

I think you’re looking at the documentation for Vanilla 2 - those folders exist in an installation of it. Try http://lussumo.com/docs/doku.php.

I used Vanilla 1 a few years ago for a small private forum. It was OK, but I found it quite difficult to work out how to produce custom functionality, a lot of high-level PHP skills required. I’ve not tried integrating it with MODx.

I did a local install of Vanilla2 a few weeks ago (once I’d worked out how extract it from this Git thing) with a view to seeing how that might integrate. It’s supposed to be easy to do, with details at http://vanillaforums.org/page/SingleSignOn. Still looks like voodoo to me, but it might make sense to those who have done other integrations?

I realized yesterday i needed to install the new version of vanilla to make those instructions work, thanks for pointing that out. Has anyone installed vanilla 2 combined with the integration as a modx-snippet from here http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,45105.0.html ?

So Kp52 did you managed to integrate your Vanilla2 forum into your website? If so was it difficult to do, I have to give that a go in the next few days it all looks a bit voodoo to me to
