Validation in E-mail

Hi,

I was searching for this in this part of the forum and through al lot of other sites but haven’t found anything to this:
A client want the validation in the email he/she fills in the contactform.
Then he/she receives an email with a link to a confirmation page and after that the contactform will be mailed to the site.

Is something like this possible? I know it’s a hassle but it was a demand of the client.
