I’m trying to set up MODX for our community association, and there are a few things I haven’t figured out how to do:
1. I’d like to set up role accounts where a certain person (say a news letter editor) can upload files (say news letters) and edit one page to link to those uploaded files. As well as the news letter editor uploading PDFs, the historical committee wants to upload and link pictures and scans of old documents in a separate section of the site. I searched the site for file uploading, and all I found was a page that looked like the END of a tutorial on snippets, but no way of finding the beginning of it.

Having a simple way for these editors to upload stuff to link to their pages is so far the only show-stopper.
2. As a less important requirement, I’ve got people asking me for a web forum. I’m not a fan of web fora, I much prefer mailing lists. So is there a web forum that also will mail to an address (in my case, a mailman mailing list) and/or have an RSS feed?
