Been attempting to solve this FCKeditor Resource Browser issue for many days and browsed forum posts such as:

to no avail. However, happy to share that now have the solution (notes in square brackets)...
Tools -> Configuration -> Interface & Features:
File base path: /home/[your username]/public_html/assets/
File Browser URL: assets/ [note there’s no leading forward slash]
Tools -> Configuration -> File manager:
File Manager path: /home/[your username]/public_html/assets/
Paths correct for a default MODx v1.0.1 install location.
