Hi,
I would like to allow bloggers to add pictures, links, ...
I did configure FCKEditor in the "advanced mode" (Admin->SystemConfiguration->Interface&EditorSettings->ToolbarSet)
I pressed ’save’, then I tried the editor, and the toolbar contained only "bold", "italic", "underlined", "add/remove link" (disabled).
How can I access to more advanced features ?
Moreover, I have seen in the forum that some people use other editors (tinyMICE, ...)
Any suggestions/comparisons about these editors ?
Tristan
After clearing your browser’s cache, the new toolbar set should be visible.
Hi netnoise,
It does not work. I cleaned the IE cache, closed and reopened IE, opened another browser (Firefox), neither of these solutions work. I still have a simple toolbar ...
Thanks anyway for your suggestion.
Tristan
I finally find out the solution to my problem: I needed to set the Advanced toolbar in Resources->ManageResources->Plugins->FCKEditor and not in Administration->SystemConfiguration->Interface&Editor Settings.
So I have a new question: what is the purpose of this latter setting ?

The setting from the System Configuration > Interface & Editor menu are strictly for users within the manager, whereas from the Configuration tab of the FCKEditor plugin is for setting the toolbar for frontend users. Right now you can only set a single toolbar for frontend users. Thus it’s probably not a good idea to allow all of your users the ability to use the resource browser since there’s a chance that a user might accidentally delete a file or folder. In the future, we’ll be replacing the resource browser with something that provides more options. I’m hoping we can have some options to set security option on a file and folder basis to keep a specific user’s files/folders from being messed with.

Thanks.
I really appreciate that answers are coming very fast from all the MODx team and its users, without a classical "RTFM"
Go on !
Heh heh! Yeah, the whole RTFM thing used to piss me off pretty fierce when I was first starting off with Linux stuff. Stupid thing was that there really wasn’t a whole hell of alot of documentation back then...not nearly as there is now. And not many books either! So my thinking was..."How the hell am I supposed to read the friggin’ manual if there technically isn’t one?!". Man...how things change!

Phew, busy couple of weeks, feel like I have hardly been to the forum and am getting behind..
On the subject of FCK, what version of FCk editor is used in Modx (being lazy I know, but I did have a quick look to find a version number)
Generally if new versions are relesed by FCK like 2.2, I guess there is no major issue with with updating this? Basically, is there anything we need to worry about !

I believe 2.2 is already in the latest version of MODx. I’ll have to check. However, if it isn’t, I’ll gladly post a 2.2 version for everyone to upgrade to. No major issues in doing that.
