    Hello,

Is there a way to tell FCKeditor to use a different background colour / image?

The reason I ask is that I am building a site which has a background image that works really well for the website (the text is totally legible due to the way I have layered the backgrounds) - but when editing the site in FCKeditor, the text in the editor is hard to read due to the background image.

So what I’d like to do is just tell the editor to serve up a flat colour as the background.

Any ideas on how to do this?

    Thanks and all the best.

Did you ever figure out how to get around this? I have just come up against the same problem. Although it only showed up after I moved the Modx site from the test environment to the root folder of the site. Beforehand, everything was fine and the text in the editor was black on white. Now, the background image used in the body tag fills the editor, even though on the site my text sits in a container div with a white background.

      Thanks!

        Hi Rivendell48,

No unfortunately - I never received an answer and to this date I am still unsure as to the solution. Hopefully someone who sees the post might be able to help us out.

        Any ideas?

              Nick,

As promised, here’s a copy of the message I sent you earlier. Delighted to hear that it worked for you too!

              Hi Nick

I actually found a solution late last night, although I don’t know if it’s of any use to you. But basically, I had entered the path to my css file in Tools - Configuration - Interface & Features. That was the only difference I had in my set-up between the live server and the test server, where I had not put this link in and where I didn’t have the same problem with the background image coming through in the editor. The minute I removed the path, things went back to normal for the editor in the live environment.

Please let me know if this helps in your case, then I’ll put it up as a reply in the forum. And thanks for replying to my query anyway even though you didn’t have the answer. That’s what I love about the people on the MODx forum - I am always amazed by how many people on other sites couldn’t be bothered to reply! smiley
