    Looking at this, I see in save_content.processor.php where it sets the path to the cache
    $sync->setCachepath("../assets/cache/");

    then in cache_sync.class.processor.php I see where it makes the path to the file
    $filename = $this->cachePath.'/sitePublishing.idx.php';

    while for updating the siteCache it has
    $filename = $this->cachePath.'siteCache.idx.php';

    So there is an extra / for the sitePublishing.idx file, but not for the siteCache.idx file huh huh

    Is there something somewhere that is stripping out extra / characters, but isn’t always working?

      I removed the slash but it doesnt help, the error remains with one slash less:

      Warning: fopen(../assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /data/home/website/www/website/manager/processors/cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 280
      Cannot open file (../assets/cache/sitePublishing.idx.php)

      I’m clueless here.
