Ok, I’ve got the feeling I’m missing something pretty basic. But a search of the archives has turned up an answer - at least one that I could see.

What I’m trying to do is enable the upload and viewing of an FLV file. I can upload it via TinyMCE and insert it using the Media button on the toolbar. But all that results is an <object> tag with the file name and a few other parameters - nothing specifying the player. And it just renders as a blank box.

I can do the same thing with a .MOV version of the file (after adding that file type) and it correctly plays the quicktime version.

Where do I let TinyMCE know what player should be used for FLV files? I can’t believe it is this complicated, so I’m sure I’ve missed something very simple.

This is a default install (with Sample site) of Evo 1.0.5 on localhost, using the MODxHost template.

    Thanks,
    Matt

No, you haven’t missed anything obvious. Maybe you use a lot of systems where FLV and other players are just built-in. MODx is not one of those systems.

You’ll have to install and configure something to play them. I have done this a number of times, and depending on the app, it can be somewhat of a chore.

You could search here on "flash" or the like, and try some of that stuff out:
