I don’t know anyone using it for ModX but I know a bunch of people who have jumped off yahoo since it’s impossible to get a wordpress site working properly there. From my own experience working on a client site, the site manager isn’t cpanel, it’s some proprietary piece of garbage that leads you in circles click after click after click trying to find what you’d be able to get to from a cpanel in just one click. You only get one dbase per account,or at least that was the case on the site I worked on, which was "business class" hosting. You have to install phpmyadmin and then it’s a joke. And there were a lot of things that I just could NOT get to work properly where on any other server it’s routine one and done.
Personally I’d recommend against it.

Your client would do better to look at real hosts. Yahoo doesn’t even support mod_rewrite . . .
Unfortunately clients are not always very reasonable, and often are not even very smart... but then, if they were, they wouldn’t need us, would they?
I just got asked to work on a site, it’s apparantly with Yahoo:
Tech Name............ YahooDomains TechContact
Tech Address......... 701 First Ave.
Tech Address.........
Tech Address......... Sunnyvale
Tech Address......... 94089
Tech Address......... CA
Tech Address......... UNITED STATES
Tech Email........... [email protected]
Tech Phone........... +1.6198813096
Tech Fax.............
Name Server.......... ns137.hostgator.com
Name Server.......... ns138.hostgator.com
But it uses CPanel.
Or maybe just registered the domain name with Yahoo, and are hosting with hostgator. Probably that’s what he’s got.

Now THAT is surprising. If it’s on hostgator you’ll be fine. Hostgator kicks butt . . . I’ve got some sites there.
