I haven’t used MODx or TinyMCE before, but I’m finding the editor to be too buggy to be useful, at least in Revolution in Firefox/Mac. I need to allow the client to update the site without trashing it. Has anyone started work on getting another WYSIWYG editor into Revo? Is there a way to hack it? I’ve worked on a WYSIWYG editor myself in the past so I’d do it if I had the time (and will if no one else does AND I find time AND I stick with MODx!).
We will be integrating InnovaStudio into Revo to test it out. It will be a few weeks till we gets started and I can’t even guess at when a beta to test will be ready but it’s in the works.

It’s a pity that it’s not free.
I believe FckEditor was available for Revo -- not sure if it still is, but by all accounts, it’s worse than TinyMCE. TinyMCE is highly configurable and you can turn off most of its "intelligent" features that usually crap up the code.
CodeMirror is available, but it’s pretty much a code editor and AFAIK, it doesn’t have any friendly buttons for the low-level user. I haven’t tried it with HTML.
InnovaStudio looks pretty good; Godspeed! I (or my clients) may be willing to pay for a decent, customizable, fool-proof editor.

Sorry, I’ve never used it in Revo, so someone else will have to answer this.
I also noticed that each time I try to save something with TinyMCE the loading message just doesn’t go away and I end up reloading the page, not very useful
