    Dear friends,
I’m a newbie and I’m stuck with a weird problem. I successfully installed MODx on my Apache/Red Hat Server, and I have modified the basic template, the home page and the .htaccess files. The problem is that when I create and publish a new webpage through MODx, the systems reports a success, it even let me update the page, but that ç§%%£* page is nowhere to be seen. I have opted for the "Friendly URL" and the I have chosen a title, an alias, I have even changed permissions of the folder I’m running MODx to 777, but I can’t find any new published page.
Does anybody know what is wrong with it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

      Hi Bryn,

If you mean that you can’t see the pages on the website, by default, pages remain as unpublished and you will have to manually publish them.

In the manager, if you right-click on a page in the ’tree view’, you will get a popup menu with the option to ’Publish document’. If you do this, then the page will appear on your website. (unpublished pages are shown in red)

The site configuration has an option that you can set to automatically publish pages when you create them. wink

      Cheers, Garry

Also, remember that MODx does not create any files other than the cache (assets/cache) if caching is enabled...

Thanks, but I already knew that. It was pretty obvious that every page, after its creation, must be published thorugh the manager, turning its status from red to green.
And that’s just what I’ve done. But the pages just don’t appear on the site. sad

What do you get? A blank page? What does a "view source" on that blank page have to say? I know it’s probably a dumb suggestion, but did you include the [*content*} document variable in your template?

Did the default installation work with the friendly URLs?

OK. I finally succeeded in making it work. One of the problems was that I was checking the files via ftp - and (of course, as I later discovered) that couldn’t show the .html generated files.
