    Hi all,

The LinkList drop-down menu has disappeared from the Insert/Edit Link popup. It was working fine before and it is still enabled in the plugin configuration (I have tried disabling and re-enabling it).

I have TinyMCE version 3.2.0.1 installed with MODx version 0.9.6.3.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

    Thanks,
    Matt

I updated TinyMCE to 3.2.4.1-a but the issue still persists.

Also, I forgot to mention that instead of the Link List I get the File Browser - as if I was adding an image.

      Thanks,
      Matt

        Hello,

I seam to recall having this same problem before. It was resolved by resetting the file permissions on my server. The uploaded files using 664/775 instead of 644/755 which caused my problem.

If you can login via SSH and run this command it should fix the problem:
        chmod -R u=rwX,go=rX ~/public_html/

Unfortunately I don’t have admin access to the server at the moment. I’ll have to ask one of the guys at my hosting provider to do it.

Do I just want to reset everything in the MODx install directory to 664/775?

          Thanks,
          Matt

            Hello,

You will need to check what the default permission should be on your server. In my case I have suphpexec installed so the max permission a file may have is 644 and folder 755. If I were to have 664/775 then it would result in 500 errors and things not functioning properly.

This could be the cause of your problems so it would be best to check what permissions are the default for your server. Also you don’t need to run the command provided you can change file permissions (chmod) using an FTP client. The command provided is much faster (2-3 seconds vs many many seconds).

If the above dosn’t fix the problem check for error_log files and/or your error log to see if it sheds any light on the situation.

You can also change file and directory permissions using cPanel’s File Manager if you have access to that. The Filezilla FTP program has a nice interface that lets you change multiple file and folder permissions at once.

                Hi guys,

                Thanks for your replies.

My hosting provider has informed me that the MODx install is actually running on a Windows Apache Server - which I wasn’t aware of.

What could be causing this problem on a Windows server?

                Thanks,
                Matt

                  Here’s the latest...

I did a clean install of MODx Evolution 1.0RC using XAMPP on Windows. I created a couple of dummy documents and checked Link List - it was working fine.

I then imported the database from my hosted MODx install - after doing this Link List stopped working.

So could it be a database problem?

                  Thanks,
                  Matt

Could be a user override or a configuration change on the TinyMCE settings from the import.

I just did another clean install... I again checked that Link List was working. Then I imported just the "modx_site_content" table from my original MODx site - and it broke the Link List.

Any ideas why the content table might do this?

                      Thanks again,
                      Matt
