TinyMCE not showing up in Manager

I have played with ModX on several local hosts for about a year now and have never had any trouble with TinyMCE. Recently, I installed ModX on freehostia.com (this is my first time using a web host to run ModX). Since installing ModX on freehostia, TinyMCE does not load in the Manager in any browser (Safari, FF, IE, Chrome). It is selected as the editor, but I have no toolbar and all of the text in the textbox reveals the plain html.

I thought it might have been a version issue, so I tried copying an older version of TinyMCE and pasted the tinymce.tpl content in to replace what installed with ModX. This did not help. I tried copying the tinymce3201 folder from the installer folder on a local disk and copied the tpl file from that one. This still did not work.

I have not found a similar problem, which makes me wonder if it may be the host. FTP has not been very consistent and, given my limited understanding of FTP, I imagine files could be getting dropped or not completing correctly. I have tried copying the TINYMCE folder up through two different ISP’s using Filezilla with the same results. Any ideas would be appreciated. I consider myself pretty new to ModX.

I am having the exact same problem.
I have installed modx1 for 7 different sites on the same server, but the last one has no tinymce option in manager.
The only rte I can choose is none.
Any ideas?

gah... i’m having the same problem and just made another post. sorry for the double-post.

any ideas about this? i’ve done a LOT of searching on this issue and no one seems to have a satisfactory answer. what’s more, TinyMCE seems to just happen to work in whatever browser it feels like working in on that day... from the reading i’ve done, i mean. for me, it’s just firefox (where it doesn’t work).
