You may call me a total noob but i have no idea what an rss feed is. I have thought that maybe it is like a news post? Can anyone explain?

      Hi LordVishiscat,

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

Basically, an RSS feed is a file that contains information on the latest news/posts/additions to a website.

The best thing about RSS feeds is that you pull them from other sites to display on your own website or through dedicated newsreader software.

Check out the RSS feed for this forum (bottom right of screen) to see the format of the feeds, and there’s a snippet on this website that allows you to use MODx to display a news feed on your website.

      Cheers, Garry

I have the feed from this forum showing the five latest posts on my site. It’s pretty neat.

Where is the snippet, if that’s what it’s called, excuse my terminology, I’ll be term-illiterate for a while.
Anyone ever seen this type of thing chained to a form select to load different feeds into the same page space?

That’s exactly what I have in mind, with query string parameters!
How’ld you guess... thanks for the link.

IS there a Demo that anybody may have set up anywhere?
The new query string can be passed in when someone clicks a link, or from a form drop down menu, or any sort of menu system, I’m hoping?
